Because this breed really has it all! They are the perfect mix of playful and docile, love their family but they are not overly needy, and they are very intelligent! They are healthy, hardy, and long living cats. They are one of the two largest breeds of domestic cats, along with the Maine Coon. They are highly adaptable cat and able to tolerate any climate. They do not shed as often as most long-haired cats. They only shed a small amount twice a year- this is unusual because other long-haired breeds shed constantly. They also require far less grooming then other long-haired breeds. Many people who are allergic to cats have no reaction to a Siberian!
